We will pick you up from the agreed-upon location and depart from Lisbon heading to Obidos.
Our first stop will be the medieval town of Obidos. Here you will visit the well-preserved medieval attractions in the town and take in the timeless scenic architecture that stands until today.
We will then head to Peniche, a popular surfing hub in the world. Here you will get time to grab lunch. Make sure you sample the various authentic Portuguese delicacies, some with the same recipes used hundreds of years ago. You will also have some free time to move around and shop for souvenirs.
Our next stop will be Baleal. We will take you to the peninsula of Baleal, where you will enjoy a soothing walk as you enjoy the cool breeze.
We will then head to Nazare, the surfing capital. Here, you will learn about the town’s decorated surfing history and also see the big waves that characterize the town break.
We will then head back to Lisbon and drop you off at your agreed-upon location safe and sound.
Most of Portugal enjoys great weather throughout the year and you can take the tour at any time of the year. You may just need to dress appropriately depending on the time of the year. Summers can sometimes be hot, requiring you to dress lightly and take more water. We provide complimentary bottled water for this. The winter months can also be chilly, requiring you to dress warmly. Don’t forget to carry an umbrella during the rainy season. And because the tour involves lots of walking, make sure you have comfort walking shoes
The tour price covers pick-up and drop-off at the agreed-upon location. This can be your hotel or even home, professional and experienced driver with good knowledge of all the attractions you will visit, transport in a comfortable and safe air-conditioned vehicle with lots luggage storage space, bottled water, stops in scenic places to allow you take in the scenery and also take photos, Goods and Services tax, and company liability and personal injury insurance cover. Tips and other personal expenses, for example, on lunch and souvenirs are not covered.
We know that sometimes unforeseen circumstances come up and you may be forced to cancel or reschedule the tour. We offer our customers free cancellations when it is done 24 hours before the tour date. Contact us through the various channels available including our social media pages, email, or by phone and we will be glad to guide you through the process. Cancellations done less than 24 hours to the tour date will, however, not be free because we will already have made arrangements for the tour
There are various attractions that you will visit on this trip. In Obidos, a town with well-preserved medieval architecture you can expect to see the different castles in the town, the ancient aqueduct that used to supply the town’s inhabitants with clean water and the Sanctuary of the Lord of the Stone. In Peniche, you can walk along the beach and get soothed by the gentle breeze there. In Baleal, the peninsula of Baleal awaits you with panoramic and breathtaking views. In Nazare, you will marvel at the huge waves that have made the town a surfers paradise.
Obidos is 84 km from Lisbon and will take you 1 hour on the road. Peniche is 102 km from Lisbon and will take you 1 hour 20 minutes on the road. Nazare is 120 km from Lisbon and will take you 1 hour 30 minutes on the road. This duration is, however, for a non-stop trip. Our tour makes several stops at scenic places along the route to allow you to enjoy the scenery and also take photos. Our guides will allow you ample time at each stop and also go the extra mile to explain everything you need to know about the locations. This will stretch the duration of the trip a little but will be worthwhile.
Our guides have undergone training and are certified by the Guides Association of Portugal. On top of this, we carefully select and allocate tours to them based on their knowledge of the tour route. The guide selected for your tour will be a local of the areas you will visit and will be knowledgeable of all the attractions in the tour. This we do to ensure you get the most of the trip. Our guides are also multilingual, with English and Portuguese being our official tour languages. You can, however, request for Spanish or Italian speaking guides and they can be provided based on availability.
